tips and tricks to get the most

from your broadfork.

First of all, here’s a video for all of you visual learners.

How to broadfork

Push the broadfork tines into the soil.

Repeat the process along the bed, every 12 inches/ 30 cm

Use your body weight to push the tines in deeper

Pull back the handles and crack the soil open slightly. The aim is to introduce air but not displace the soil.

Top tip - The best time to use a broadfork is between crops. Walking on beds, rain and weed membrane can cause compaction.
