Gail Hurst is a local visual artist and mixed media sculptor who has enjoyed painting flowers both in craft (canalware) and fine art for many years. Her work has been exhibited in the Feren’s Art Gallery, The Hull Minster, more recently at Burton Constable Hall and currently her sculptures can be seen at the Fishing Heritage Art Exhibition, St John the Baptist Church, St Georges Road (until 27th July) Since leaving her employment in education now works as a full time freelance artist. Our Beginner’s Masterclass in Flower Painting is aimed towards those with an interest in creating art but do not know where to start, or for those who have done a little in the past and wish to revisit their passion! If you wish to relax and have a bit of fun whilst learning some fundamental techniques of drawing and painting beautiful flowers our Beginners Masterclass in our tipi is a great place to start.

The schedule of the day is as follows; 

10.0 - 12 noon learning the art of sketching - experimenting with various medium/tools

Tea, coffee and homemade cake will be served during the morning.

12 noon - 12.45  Light lunch with time to relax and chat to the group and peruse some inspirational paintings, books etc. 

12.45 - 1.45 - Painting demonstrations in watercolour and acrylic inks.

1.45 - 4pm  Creating your own composition from your sketches and applying colour.
